Downloaded this on my Kindle Fire HD primarily to help with my new Kindle Paperwhite. It is poorly written in my view and is much briefer than I expected. Chapter 3- A Simple Guide for Using the Kindle Paperwhite is a whole 3 pages long. A perfect example of confusing language "while using your computer, go to the root folder and create a folder with the name "pictures". Within it create a new sub-folder. Then put jpegs in it, unplug and click Alt-Z to rescan." WTF? Chapter 3 is replete with these type of "simple tips". Chapter 2 is also a whopping 3 pages long and purports to tell you all you need to know about the Kindle Paperwhite. Suffice it to say that "how to use it" only begins on page 2 of 3 and, believe it or not, tells you that "... is pretty easy especially due to the fact that it's(sp) easy to use features are easy to understand." Are you kidding me, I paid $.99 for this? Among other great tidbits you learn is that you can actually read using only one hand. Wow, thanks for that! Oh, it also tells you how to adjust the lightbulb. At least I didn't waste my monthly free one "borrow a book" feature with my Amazon Prime or I would have been really mad.Product details

The All New Family User Guide Tips Tricks Highlights Apps (Audible Audio Edition) Jenny Collins Liz OByrne Books Reviews
I really liked this book. I've been thinking of updating to the Fire HD, but was looking for someone to hand-hold while I did my shopping. This little book did that for me and the low-price was a no brainer. I learned a lot about the new Fire and found the APPS section to be very useful. Thanks for your help.
I got this book to better understand the Paperwhite features. It was really helpful. Paperwhite uses a "white" ink with a front light. This makes the text print black on a white background which is more natural. The lighting can be controlled so you can even read in the dark. There are all sorts of features explained like the tapping or swiping to change pages, the web browser, google maps, google reader with RSS feeds and more. It was really helpful! There's also a section on the Fire HD if you're thinking about buying that device.
I just got a kindle paperwhite to read texts for work. It is easy to use, and I admit I get a little baffled by user manuals. So, on recommendation from a friend, I picked up this book.
It's very helpful. It covers multiple kindle products, and the instructions are clear, short, and written in a language I can easily understand.
I knew that the paperwhite could do a whole lot of different things, and I was able to walk through them one-by-one with the book and explore them all. I especially like the paperwhite text to speech function that allows me to listen while I drive. I also like the instructions on how to convert .pdf's to a readable format in the kindle paperwhite.
I think this book would be helpful also for someone who is trying to decide which kindle product to get as there is a nice comparison.
She should stick to recipe's. There's many more HD
Books out there that do a better job for the first time user.
This book compares the Paperwhite, The Fire HD and The Fire HD 8.9. It has easy, user friendly tips and information on each device. I like the Chapter on the top apps you can download. This book is good for anyone who bought a or is planning on purchasing one and wants to do some comparative shopping.
This is definitely a good book to download, having purchased a Fire. However, I wish it were more informative for people who are not savvy to this technology. I am a senior citizen and can use all the help I can get. This book is limited. The best help I have received for my has been from the comments regarding each app. I have learned to rely on them for the best information!
